You can easily make your way around NYC, however, by following an unspoken code of transportation conduct. Rules govern everything from yellow cabs to the sidewalk, and it will do you well to learn them.
Sidewalk Conduct
First off, on the sidewalk, you can look at it as a highway. You need to stay on the right side of the direction you are facing. You have to keep moving, but if you have to slow down or stop, pick an out-of-the-way spot where you won’t block passersby.
Ridesharing Rules
For Uber and other ridesharing services, you have to remember that hundreds of people are also using it. Make sure you will ride the right car. Believe it.
